Review:

Lost in Time is the sixth book in Melissa de la Cruz’s epic Blue Bloods series. It continues the story of Schuyler Alen, a girl who is anything but ordinary even in the extraordinary world she is a part of. As those who have read the previous books in the series know, being a Blue Blood makes you very special indeed. . .

Rabbit hole escaped :)

I just got back from posting in my EMA (that’s End of Module Assignment, yeah I keep thinking of MTV’s EMAs and of the Educational Maintenance Allowance too!). Irritatingly we’re not “allowed” to use Recorded Delivery, so I’ve had to settled for Proof of Posting. I wanted to track it Every. Step. Of. The. Way. Damnit!!! Now the waiting game starts.

I’m not good at the waiting game.

Seriously.

Not. Good.

On brighter news, I can actually start reading and therefore blogging again – this isn’t actually a blog post, really 😉 I’ve got two books left over from last year which I’ve already read, but as you saw in this post life decided to rear its head. Seriously not cool! I’d actually starting writing a review for one, so hopefully my first book blog of the year won’t be too far off. No promises though.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Glitter Words - http://www.sparklee.com

With only one day to go before the big day, so to speak, I thought I’d take the time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a fun filled day with friends and family whether they celebrate the day or not. I will be spending the day with my family, eating too much, and exchanging gifts and watching bad telly. I’ll also NOT be venturing out to enjoy the chaos of the Boxing Day Sales – they’ll still be there later in the week.

Trying to escape the rabbit hole

My posting to the blog has become almost non-existent. Sorry! I had drafts of post all lined up to post from the end of November to early December. I even had thoughts on how I was going to handle Christmas and the New Year, and what my first post of 2012 was going to be. You see, I had to be organised because I’ve got a 5,0o0 word essay due on January 16th which I’m going to have to send by post. Unfortunately life decided to rain on my parade. My plans all fell into ruin because I got swamped in trying to prepare for my essay at the end of November and then in early December I had an allergic reaction to some medication I was taking. That stopped everything. It was not fun. I’m still not one hundred percent, but I do have enough energy to go back to being me. I’m still going to try to post what I was going to do for Christmas and New Year, but there will for certain be no more reviews posted on this blog until mid-January. Sorry. I wish life hadn’t decided to rain on me, but it did. In case I don’t get the chance to post again, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas (whether you celebrate it or not) and that you have a fantastic New Year.

SINCE THE MOMENT OF HER DEFECTION FROM THE PSYNET AND INTO THE SNOWDANCER WOLF PACK, SIENNA LAUREN HAS HAD ONE WEAKNESS. HAWKE. A DANGEROUS ALPHA, THE RESPONSE HE DRAWS FROM HER COULD ALMOST COMPEL HER TO MADNESS.

Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.

Then Sienna changes the rules and, suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight.

A deadly enemy is out to destroy the SnowDancer pack, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home . . . and the alpha who is its heartbeat . . .

Review:

Kiss of Snow is the tenth book in Nalini Singh’s brilliant A Psy-Changeling Novel series, so by this point I know pretty much what to expect. However, although the book follows the same formula as previous books in the series, it was still a brilliant and entertaining read.

With Tales of the Otherworld Kelley Armstrong introduces her second anthology of short stories based in her fantastic The Otherworld series. This book holds a collection of eight stories, some of which were at one point available on Armstrong’s website for free. However, with the publication of this book Armstrong has her proceeds go to World Literacy of Canada.

The severed head with a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts hones over hundreds of years compelled the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past . . . but Dmitri’s need to discover the truth is nothing compared to his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.

Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with a seductive vampire who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality . . . the same vampire who had been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.

As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting, and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more . . .

Review:

Archangel’s Blade is the fourth book in Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter Series. Unlike the previous three books in the series, this one does not focus on the relationship between Elena and Raphael – although they do both appear as minor characters. Instead, for the first time, we get to see Dmitri centre stage and boy is it a treat!
