Today marks the start of the twentieth Bout of Books.  I decided I wanted to take part a while ago, but somehow I never actually got round to signing up. I don’t think this will be a particularly brilliant Bout of Books for me in terms of amount of reading I’ll get done, but as Amanda and Kelly often point out Bout of Books is not about the amount you read but the fun you have. After the last several months I definitely need some fun! Bout of Books 20 came at the perfect time.

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 21st and runs through Sunday, August 27th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. As I did with Bout of Books 19, I’ve decided to combine my sign up post with my progress post – so don’t forget to check back here to see my progress as the week progresses.

Bout of Books 20 Wrap-up

I’m sitting here writing this late on the 10th of September. You could say Bout of Books 20 was a bit of a disaster for me in terms of page count, and that is totally true. I read nowhere near the amount I wanted to, nor did I get any motivation to read. I did manage to take part in the Twitter chat on the Sunday, and I did complete one challenge – I also read something, which is a LOT better than nothing. August was not a good month for me, here’s hoping that September will be better.
