In My Mailbox (3)

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren, it is a weekly meme where people record what books they received that week. As I don’t receive books every week, I do the meme as and when I can.

This weeks all the books come courtesy of my Mum – thanks Mum!

I’ve already read this series (you can find my review for Tempestuous here) but I no longer own a copy of it, and I need to have one for my MA.

These books too are for use in my MA, though I haven’t read any of them yet. I’m really looking forward to reading This Must Be Love though as from my flick through it, it looks interesting.

Waiting on Wednesday (2)

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week the book I’m most eagerly anticipating is:

Hex Hall #3

Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins, UK edition cover.

Spell Bound (Hex Hall 3)
by Rachel Hawkins

Release Date: 29th March 2012

Blurb taken from Goodreads:

Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident.

Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?

I’m looking forward to reading this book because the previous book in the series ended with a cliff-hanger and I can’t wait to know what happens next.

Waiting on Wednesday (1)

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week the book I’m most eagerly anticipating is:

Alpha and Omega #3

Fair Game by Patricia Briggs, UK edition cover.

Fair Game (Alpha and Omega 3)
by Patricia Briggs

Release Date: 6th March 2012 (Orbit)

Blurb taken from Goodreads:

They say opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son-and enforcer-of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant alpha. While Anna, an omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.

Now that the werewolves have revealed themselves to humans, they can’t afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father’s dirty work is taking a toll on Charles.

Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston, when the FBI requests the pack’s help on a local serial killer case. They quickly realize that not only the last two victims were werewolves-all of them were. Someone is targeting their kind. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer’s sights . . .

I’m really looking forward to reading this, but I’m going to have to wait until April to buy it (because I’m taking part in Black March) hence me cheating a little and having a book that’s just been published as my WoW.

Right, so this is my second IMM – the meme In My Mailbox which is hosted by The Story Siren.

I wasn’t planning on posting this until March 1st, but all these books arrived last week so I thought I might post a bit earlier than planned.

IMM 2.1

There are also three books I didn’t take photos of. I got six of the books through Waterstones brilliant 3 for 2 offer on children’s books.

In My Mailbox (1)

So… I’ve decided I’m going to participate in the meme In My Mailbox which is hosted by The Story Siren. I’m not sure how regularly I’ll participate, probably once a month at the moment.

This is my first time, so here goes…

Marked (A House of Night Novel) by P.C. and Kristin Cast (click here for more info)
Raven Queen by Pauline Francis (click here for more info)
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins (click here for more info)
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (click here for more info)

As you can tell from the picture, I got all these books from my local library. I didn’t order anything in January. I’m really looking forward to reading Marked as I’ve heard a lot about it. I’m also looking forward to Hex Hall as Sarah Rees Brennan recommended it in a Tumblr post.
