About Me

Welcome to The Flutterby Room.

About the blog.

The Flutterby Room was created on the 27th March 2011. I set this blog up as a place where I could talk about the books I’m reading, the books I love, and the authors I like.

The blog contains reviews mainly in the Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, and Urban Fantasy genres although I will occasionally slip into other areas. The blog is aimed at readers like me, who are really a little too old for Young Adult books to be aimed at but still find themselves drawn to them hence the crossover with the other genres.

The name of the blog comes from a book I read a long time ago, I think it was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, where one of the characters refers to a butterfly as a flutterby. The name has always stuck with me, and this seemed like the perfect time to use it.

Lucky & I

About me.

I’m Becki and I’ve just completed my MA English with the Open University. I live in England. I primarily consider myself to be a reader, not a blogger as I don’t really spend a lot of time not reading, as it’s something I enjoy. Blogging is just something I do to squee about the books I love and a chance to talk with like-minded people. As well as reading (too much, probably) I watch a lot of TV, cook almost every day, sometimes bake, sometimes game, and always walk my dog (he’d complain if I didn’t!).

Hi Becki! Did you know that the original name for a butterfly was flutterby? It got turned around when someone thought it sounded funny, and then stuck!

No I didn’t. Thanks for letting me know :)
